DIY floor lamp: simple and stylish
If you are tired of the usual lampshades, then there is a wonderful alternative that will take your time and attention for the coming weekend. And it will take quite a bit to implement this project: a lampshade frame (for example, a broken one), a rope and a bunch of branches, which finally can find a worthy application. Moreover, in this way, a very unusual and original light can be obtained. So let's get started:
you will need to select the appropriate structure for the lampshade, for this, for example, you can use the old broken one, which can always be found in any family;
then it is necessary to remove fabric, various screws and other unnecessary parts from it, completely exposing the frame;
after this, it is necessary to scrape off the rust, for example, using a sandpaper;
if desired, you can draw a structure;
reduce the diameter of the wood by approximately 5 cm, providing the basis for your future lighting kit;
Next, install a metal bracket that will hold the base by drilling holes on both sides;
Now you will need a lighting kit and dimmer, purchased at a hardware store and installed in advance;
it is necessary to install a lighting kit over the base;
then you should collect branches that should have a length equal to the length of the frame, from the top to the bottom;
tie the structure with a rope, which will serve as a decor and as a holder for the subsequently attached branches;
put the branches exactly in a row along the structure, trim the protruding edges;
Next, you need to connect the branches together with the structure using a wire (subsequently, the wires are dismantled);
trim the upper edges of the branches with scissors to give the lamp an aesthetic appearance;
then wrap the edges of the branches in several rows with a rope, so the branches should be fixed at the base and at the top of the lamp;
if desired, the branches can be tied with a rope in the middle of the lamp;
remove the wire that was used to secure the branches by cutting it with scissors;
it is necessary to adapt the light diffuser, this can be done using tracing paper, which must be rolled up and inserted into the center of the lampshade, then screw in a light bulb with a power of not more than 15 - 20 watts;
your wonderful floor lamp is ready, and a dimmer will help you choose the degree of illumination you need, depending on the situation and your preferences
