Forged artifacts or blacksmithing in the interior
The origins of the blacksmithing craft are lost in the haze of the past at the dawn of the first civilizations. Weapons and armor, household items and works of art served people from century to century. And today, forged artifacts continue to attract the attention of many. Part of the reason for this interest is their ability to naturally combine with various objects and materials of our time. Decorating a garden, home, apartment or office with wrought iron objects has become a familiar thing for the wealthy elite, as well as true connoisseurs of the art of forging for metal. Any product made by the hands of a blacksmith is unique. To make such things more affordable for us (primarily for the price), manufacturers began to make the final product from individual forged elements. The list of such components is wide and varied. Only the most basic ones are briefly presented here.
Monograms
Monograms, ornaments, curls or lambs are design details bent by curve curves. They are made from a round or rectangular bar by stamping or forged manually. Such components in different sets are included in all kinds of fences, railings, flights of stairs, trellises, etc. Usually, such elements are placed in pairs to make a symmetrical figure from them.
Balls
Rounded details are applicable in a variety of subjects. Often, the upper ends or bases of low fences are made of them. As decorative nuances, they can be present in a variety of structures. The figures are solid (balls) and hollow (spheres). Usually their size varies between 40-150 mm.
Hemispheres
This design option can be used, for example, as a bowl or to close any hole.
Accessories for stairs
The design of the front door is an important element in the design of the living space. Therefore, the main staircase leading to the house is your hallmark. Patterns on the stair railings and forged ornaments should be in harmony with the architecture of the house, while enhancing the overall emotional impression.
There are two main types of forged components - these are handrails and posts (balusters). Columns or balusters are called vertical jumpers that support the handrails. These supports, in turn, can be decorated with other forged fragments. As for the handrails, in them the metal is often combined with other material, for example, stone or wood.
Plants
In the creations of blacksmiths, floral motifs remain invariably loved: bunches of grapes, carved leaves, embossed and recognizable flowers.
Such a decorative design will be appropriate in the interior of the classic style. They also look good on the forged structures of the yard and garden.
Today there are many varieties of such accessories: branches, leaves, petals, flowers, fruits, etc.
Among the flowers, the rose is most preferred. Fruits of grapes or apples framed by leaves are charmingly and gracefully executed. Forged clusters and fruits can be black or painted in appropriate colors.
Baskets
So called openwork swirling decor details. They are usually made in a shape close to a sphere, or slightly elongated along the axis of rotation. The volume of such a basket is outlined by several bent rods converging together at the extreme nodes from two opposite sides. These elegant additions can be in the middle of the product, surrounded by other details, and at its edges, decorating the perimeter.
Heads and peaks
Tops or tips along with peaks are a simple and expressive way to decorate. Peaks like the spear point are widely used in all kinds of metal fences, where not only their decorative, but also protective role is obvious. Their aspiration upwards reminds of the Gothic style.
The tips differ from the peak in the absence of a pronounced pointedness and can be performed, for example, in the form of a corn cob. Both peaks and tops can be either hand-forged, or stamped or cast.
In addition to the usual elements, blacksmiths are ready to do the work to order. According to your desire and corresponding sketches, they will create a one-of-a-kind piece. A designer can help you design a sketch. It can be a visor above the front door, a shoe rack, an inscription above the entrance gate, your family coat of arms or a chandelier in the living room.
The elegant forged product significantly transforms, adds a touch of antiquity, comfort and warmth, exquisitely emphasizes the individuality and originality of a country house or apartment, and turns a classic garden into a fabulous place.
